A challenge for any Ambient Assisted Living (AAL) technology project is determining the personal and societal impact achieved by the project. The Dem@Care team have proposed a methodology for assessing and measuring the impact that Dem@Care has on the lives of the many stakeholders involved in the care of people with dementia, the socio-economic benefits, and the expected scientific impact on the clinical and technical state-of-the-art. This methodology is based on understanding current dementia care practices, the role of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in dementia care, and on the evaluation of the first Dem@Care pilot.
