CERTH participated in the information day “New Technologies for Active Ageing” which took place on July 2 on the premises of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki’s Research Dissemination Center (http://kedea.rc.auth.gr/documents/kedea_brochure_en.pdf). The conference gathered experts on dementia from various fields, ranging from neuro-psychiatry to computer science, kinematics, electrical engineering, psychology. The motivation, concept, goals and current achievements of Dem@Care were discussed with both clinical and technical experts. The need for multi-sensor monitoring and the recording of the Dem@Care ADL datasets was presented, as well as its envisioned incorporation into the daily lives of people with dementia and the improvements it is expected to bring about in personal lives, society and even economies.
